Who We Are-Selah House Recovery

Where Faith Meets Addiction
Selah House Recovery of West Michigan is a Christ-centered' residential recovery center designed to support women seeking freedom from alcohol, marijuana, or prescription medication addiction. Rooted in faith, the program offers a unique recovery experience centered on the Fruit of the Spirit, fostering personal growth and spiritual renewal.
At Selah House Recovery we operate under a 40-day model, designed to provide women with a faith-based recovery experience that balances structured in-residence care and transitional support. This model includes two phases:
-
In-Residence Phase (30 days): Small-group instruction, focused on recovery work, spiritual growth and building a foundation for sustained sobriety.
-
Aftercare (10-days): After the 30-day in-residence phase, residents transition to 10 days of recovery coaching sessions.

Selah House Recovery might be for you if you are a woman who is addicted to:
Alcohol
Marijuana
Prescription Medication
And are interested in a residential program that is:
A curriculum Biblically based on the Fruits of the Spirit
A reasonably priced recovery program
Operated by individuals with lived experience with substance abuse

The She Surrenders Community-
Where it all started.
She Surrenders is a faith-based recovery community founded in 2016 by Sherry Hoppen, Executive Director of Selah House Recovery of West Michigan. What began as a personal response to the need for connection in sobriety has grown into a trusted community serving women across the country in all stages of recovery.
Whether a woman is newly sober or has years of recovery behind her, the She Surrenders community exists to offer understanding, support, and hope.
Over the years, this community has continued to grow and now plays an integral role in the life of Selah House Recovery. Many women from She Surrenders actively support the mission of Selah House through prayer, encouragement, and ongoing involvement, extending care not only to Sherry but to the women who come through the doors of the residence.
Through She Surrenders, visitors can also access the She Surrenders Podcast and explore more than 250 faith-based blog posts written by Sherry Hoppen—resources created to encourage spiritual growth, sobriety, and long-term healing throughout the recovery journey.
